Golestan Palace

Golestan Palace is part of the UNESCO heritage site, famous for being the historic residence of the Qajar dynasty located in Tehran and the center of artistic production in the 19th century. It is the oldest monument in the city belonging to the complex of buildings once enclosed by the walls of the Arg citadel. The Arg complex is testimony to the architecture and art of the Qajar period also known for the introduction of European design and styles in Persian art. The palace is the symbol of an important cultural and artistic period in the history of Iran during the nineteenth century, when Persian society began a process of modernization and European influences. The values, the architectural and artistic experience of the ancient Persian empire embraced the introduction of a new form and the Persian artists gradually acquired western influence. Today host a museum known by tourists for its architectural beauty and collection of paintings. A palace where the ruler loved to received his guests for dinners and dances.
