Azadi Tower

Azadi Tower

Every journey is lived three times: when you dream it, when you live it and when you remember it ..

In this unique time we are living, we often ask ourselves, when will we be able to start traveling again. Will be possible again soon?

Something is 100% sure, we can always dream. Why leave dreams and imagination only to the little ones?

For one week we will be experience the wonderful Iran, or as I prefer to call it Persia, through Maria Alejandra eyes and  shots we will be travelling within a little known State, or known just for the wrong reasons, but which actually hides hidden treasures .. Treasures in terms of architecture and in terms of people!

The truth is this, we could find ourselves in front of the wonders of the world but what warms the heart is remembering the people who have marked our experiences.

Here behind the contagious smile of Alejandra, the Azadi Tower. One of the main symbols of Iran. The tower was organized in 1971 by the architect Bahà’ì Hossein Amanat on the occasion of the ceremonies organized by the last Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi to celebrate the 2500th anniversary of the founding of the Achaemenid Empire by Cyrus the Great.

The tower is approximately 45 meters (148 feet) high and is completely covered in cut marble. It was built with stone white marble from the Esfahan region; the monument includes 8000 stone blocks.
